Working With NEXsteps

Understanding Where You Are

Most people don’t arrive here looking for a service.
They come because they have questions, need support, or are trying to make sense of what’s involved in estate planning or estate administration.

In many cases, documents have not been created or have not been updated, and people are looking for guidance on how to prepare them. In others, documents are already in place and roles have been defined, but it’s not always clear how those pieces connect or what to focus on next.

Support begins with understanding your situation, clarifying what exists, and bringing focus to what needs attention now and what can be addressed at the appropriate time.

How I Help

My work focuses on providing clarity and guidance around estate planning and estate administration, whether someone is planning ahead or actively navigating responsibilities.

I help people understand how estate documents, roles, and decisions fit together in practice, not just in theory. That often involves translating between legal and financial information, identifying gaps or risks that may not be immediately obvious, and helping people prioritize what requires attention.

Support may involve planning ahead, preparing or organizing information, or navigating the responsibilities that come with acting as an executor. In many cases, it also means helping people slow the process down, ask better questions, and make decisions in a thoughtful and informed way.

I work alongside legal, financial, and other professional advisors, providing continuity and context so that people are not left trying to coordinate complex information on their own.

When People Typically Reach Out

People connect with NEXsteps at different points in their estate planning or estate administration process, often when something feels unclear or unfinished.

Some reach out while planning ahead, wanting to understand what documents are needed, how responsibilities are defined, or whether existing plans still reflect their current circumstances.

Others come after being named as an executor, or when an estate is already underway. They may be trying to understand their role, organize information, or make sense of responsibilities that feel broader or more complex than expected.

There are also situations where planning or administration has stalled. Documents may be outdated, decisions delayed, or communication among family members or professionals difficult to manage without support.

Many legal and financial professionals reach out when they recognize that their clients would benefit from additional guidance, organization, or executor-focused support that complements the work already being done.

Ways We Can Work Together

Support through NEXsteps is not one-size-fits-all. How we work together depends on your circumstances and the questions or responsibilities you’re dealing with around estate planning or estate administration.

For some, support begins with a single conversation to talk through questions, review what’s already in place, or understand next steps. For others, it involves more structured guidance around estate planning, document preparation, or organizing information and responsibilities.

There are also situations where ongoing support is helpful, particularly when acting as an executor or navigating estate administration over time. In these cases, support may evolve as responsibilities unfold and circumstances change.

Additional details about ways of working together are available through the Agapi site, where support is tailored to reflect individual circumstances rather than a fixed approach.

Tools & Guided Experiences

Some people prefer to begin by exploring information on their own before deciding whether they want personal support. Others use self-guided tools alongside ongoing guidance.

In addition to one-to-one support, I offer a range of tools and guided experiences through my Substack publications,

In addition to one-to-one support, I offer tools through my Substack publications, The Estate Files and the upcoming NEXsteps Academy.  These include interactive experiences, webinars, checklists, and learning resources designed to help people reflect, learn, and prepare at their own pace.

These tools are intended to support awareness and understanding. They can help identify questions, highlight areas that may need attention, and provide a clearer sense of what support might be helpful. They are not a replacement for personalized guidance, but there is no expectation that using them leads to further engagement.

For those who wish to explore these resources, they are available independently or as part of one-to-one support.

What Working Together Feels Like

Working together is about being steady and thoughtful, and about meeting you where you are. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out, and there’s no expectation that decisions are made all at once.

Conversations unfold at a pace that reflects what’s needed at the time. For some, that means addressing a specific question or situation. For others, it means returning as responsibilities evolve or as new considerations emerge.

The work itself is collaborative and practical. The focus is on helping you understand what’s in front of you, consider implications, and make decisions in a way that feels appropriate for you and those involved.

Above all, the intention is to reduce uncertainty, bring structure where it’s helpful, and support thoughtful decisions without pressure.

A Closing Invitation

If you’re considering support around estate planning or estate administration, an initial conversation is a practical place to begin. It gives us the opportunity to understand your situation, the questions you’re facing, and what kind of support may be helpful.

For legal and financial professionals, NEXsteps provides an additional layer of guidance and coordination that can support clients alongside existing advisory relationships.

Whether you’re reaching out for yourself, for someone you support, or in a professional capacity, you’re welcome to get in touch when you’re ready to explore next steps.
